Biblical Community
The GO Year of Discipleship will ask participants to engage in Biblical community in ways that are challenging, foundational, and transformational. This will be done through the way participants live, study, eat, and recreate together. The program will accept 40 young men and women, all believers in Jesus Christ, that will engage intentionally with one another and the Forest Home community. These 40 men and women will become your closest friends, confidants, brothers and sisters, and co-laborers. The following aspects will shape the relational growth of each participant:
Community Living
For the majority of the GO Year, participants will live and learn together. Students will live with three other roommates for the first 9 months of the program and will relocate to their summer service assignments from late-May through early-August. Each participant will expeience the following:
- Participants will live in pods of 4
- Each housing unit has it's own bathroom and shower
- Housing is equipped with heat
- Each participant will have their own private closet space
- Roommate pods will participate in shared chores and devotionals
On-Site Leadership
The GO Year of Discipleship has a full time staff of 5 individuals consisting of the Director and 4 mentors. The mentors provide both intenional discipleship as well as 1:1 leadership thoruhgout the year, creating a safe and healthy growth environment.
Community Life Activities
GO Year participants will engage in required, optional, and organic activities and events throughout their year at Forest Home. Some of these events are:
- Corporate Bible Studies
- Intentionally Assigned, Weekly Small Groups
- Small and Large Group Excursions
- Worship Nights
- Shared Educational Experiences
- Many Off-Site Experiences and Trips (at least twice monthly)
